Howick Roundup – March and April 2026

Welcome to the Howick Roundup!

Like any good tradition (and slightly predictable sitcom), we stick to the same format each month—so you’ll always find the same sections in the same places. Each one is lovingly maintained by the staff or team in charge. Sometimes they’re bursting with updates, and sometimes… not so much. When that happens, you may see a reassuring little “no news is good news!”—which, in school terms, is basically cause for quiet celebration.
You might also spot the occasional repeat from a previous edition. That’s not déjà vu—it’s just important information making a comeback tour.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏼Community Connections!🫱🏼‍🫲🏼

This section highlights what’s happening in and beyond our school walls—local events, programs, services, and opportunities that may be of interest to our families. From recreational activities to support services and community initiatives, this is your go-to spot for staying connected and making the most of what our community has to offer.

Robyn Tsounis is our Community Development Agent. She visits us once a week and can be reached at rtsounis@nfsb.qc.ca

🍎Cycle Snapshot🍎

A peek into our classrooms! Teachers share highlights of learning, activities, and special moments from their cycles. It’s possible some cycles may share more often than others, and that’s ok!

K4 children visited Ms. Lamb’s Family Farm for Earth day. Grown-ups were invited too as part of one of the many volet parents we organize to invite families in over the course of the school year. It’s the perfect place for a hike and picnic.
🤩In the Spotlight🤩

Highlights of current events, achievements, and special moments happening in our school community.

We had a lot these past couple of months. The Montreal Steppers visited as part of the ArtistsInsprie grant we secured, which was great in combination with Black History Month.
We had two Switcheroos, one with Irish Dancing, the other with HipHop dancing. Thank you Janice Young and No Gravity! Teachers were involved in a vertical planning project to streamline end-of-year expectations across all grades and cycles – this is a big project folks!
Autism Awareness Day, I love to Read Week, la semaine de la francophonie, all occured recently – a busy couple of months it’s been!
Mme Gaby, with help from Ms. Harmol, put on the spring concert. Both with very limited experience in this area, and they knocked it out of the park. Thanks to all who helped out and attended!
And let’s not forget the Artsfest! Ms. Harmol and her choir preformed beautifully!
